Wanting a panel, and then having one
I had the thought away from my desk: the ticker should say it’s pumpkin season. So I told Claude that, from my phone, and a few minutes later the panel on the wall said it.
The code isn’t the interesting part. It’s a scene and some pixel art, and I could have written it in an afternoon. What’s new is that the distance between having the idea and watching the thing change collapsed to about the length of the thought itself — no laptop, no branch, no deploy I had to be present for.
I think that’s the real power of a coding agent, and it’s easy to miss if you measure it as typing speed. The win isn’t that it writes the code faster. It’s that ideas which were never worth the context switch now happen at all. A pumpkin panel is not worth opening a laptop for. It’s absolutely worth saying out loud.
